High security steel door series S4 nominated for the German Design Award 2018
The SAELZER high-security steel door series S4 is nominated for the German Design Award 2018. The SAELZER steel door offers individual design options despite the high security properties. The German Design Award directly contributes to the overall commercial success. Prizes will only be awarded to projects that truly represent pioneering contributions to the German and international design landscape. The highly esteemed, international jury guarantees this. The German Design Award identifies and presents unique design trends: a competition that advances the design-oriented scene. The German Design Council, the expert for brand and design in Germany, bestows the German Design Award. Commissioned by the highest authority to represent new developments in the German design industry. Established on the initiative of the German Bundestag (the lower house of German parliament) as a foundation in 1953, it supports the industry in all matters consistently aimed at generating an added brand value through design.
Evaluation of the customer satisfaction 2016
After completing an order, we ask our customers whether they would evaluate our services by answering a questionnaire. These feedbacks give us important indications how we can improve continuously our performance. The annual evaluation for 2016 made us very proud. The returned questionnaires showed that our customers would order again and can recommend us (100%).
Protect "blast resistant security" films?
In the case of protection with "explosive resistant security" films, usually only one single (or multi-layered) film is laminated onto the internal side of the glazing; the other components of the door, the window or the facade are still unsecured. During an explosion extreme pressure waves are released. At an explosion with pressure waves of e.g. 0.1bar, a load of about 1t/m2 will impact on the whole element. In order to withstand this high pressure, the complete element must be designed blast resistant. If only films are laminated onto the glazing and all other components are unsecured and are not designed for such a strong pressure, the element will fail in emergency case in a variety of ways:

Marion Gründel and Karl Kreh from the ‘parents initiative for children suffering from leukemia and tumors’ are very pleased about the donation from SAELZER. As in the previous years, SAELZER forgo presents for clients to donate instead the money to this social institution. (www.elterninitiative-kinderkrebs-marburg.de). The employees increased the amount by a further donation of 600€ The money were achieved by selling raffle tickets at the Christmas tombola. Karl Kreh stressed during the meeting how much the association is dependent on the support by volunteers as well as by donations. "We do not get any public aid money and we are very pleased that SAELZER repeatedly donated," says Mr Kreh. " We are very glad that we can hereby help families in our region", said Walther SAELZER, Managing Director of SAELZER GmbH. Steel door series S4 was tested in the highest resistance level RC6 of the European standard for forced entry resistance
The number of burglaries has increased extremely in the last few years. Only every sixth burglary could be solved. Therefore it is important to prevent forced entry attempts by installing mechanical high security components. SAELZER has enhanced the steel door S4, which was successfully used for decades, and has tested it in the highest security level RC6. The European standard for forced entry resistance EN 1627-1630 assume in the highest resistance level RC6 that an experienced and professional prepared burglar commit the burglary. It is assumed that the burglar uses power tools such as power drill, jigsaw and angle grinder in addition to usual tools such as crowbar and hammer. In the tests according to the European standard the number and the quality of the used tools increases gradually with each resistance level - from RC1 up to RC6. Furthermore the testing time increase gradually with each security level up to a total test time of 50 min. in level RC6.
