Retrofitting security concept
Secondary windows can provide additional levels of protection against forced entry, ballistic attack and blast without need to exchange regular windows. By installing secondary windows the outward appearance of the building is maintained whilst at the same time upgrading the level of security to any perceived threat, thus offering protection to the occupants and contents. Even windows for buildings under preservation order can be designed according to this design requirements. Therefore, this security concept is also an ideal solution for time-limited use.
Choose from the extensive, tested and certified SÄLZER product portfolio to create a secondary window system: aluminium façade S1es, aluminium window S2es-w, aluminium window S6es-w, SECUFIRE® steel series.
External or internal installation
The secondary glazing system can be alternatively installed outside at the wall or inside.

Secondary widow system: resistance classes depending on selected series
In accordance with DIN EN 1627-1630, glazing in accordance with DIN EN 356, the level is depending on the selected material and series: S1es aluminium façade, S2es-w and S6es-w aluminium window, SECUFIRE® steel series.
In accordence with DIN EN 1522-1523, glazing in accordence with DIN EN 1063, the level is depending on the selected material and series: S1es aluminium façade, S2es-w aluminium window series, S6es-w aluminium window series, S4 steel series and SECUFIRE® steel tubular frame series.
Depending on the selected material and series, blast tests e.g. with explosives of 500 kg, distance 24 m. Classifierd: GSA 2 ("Very High" protection level), ISO B ("No Hazard" hazard rating).
If the steel series is selected, depending on the design variant and further protection, fire protection up to T90/EI90.
If the steel series are selected, depending on the design variant and further protection, smoke protection up to S200.
